Welcome to the 1st South Wallsend Scout Group!
We’re delighted to welcome you and your child to our Scouting community. We hope your child enjoys the fun, friendship, and life skills they’ll gain through their Scouting journey. We also encourage you to take an active interest in their progress and badge achievements.
Our group proudly embraces inclusivity, welcoming children of all genders, abilities, and additional needs. Please note that while we strive to accommodate everyone, our hall is currently not wheelchair accessible.
Scout Sections and Meeting Times
Your child’s age will determine which section of the group they can join:
-
Cub Scouts (Ages 8–11): Meets Wednesday nights during school terms, from 6:30–8:00 pm
-
Scouts (Ages 11–14): Meets Monday nights during school terms, from 7:00–9:00 pm
-
Venturer Scouts (Ages 14–18): Meets Tuesday nights during school terms, from 7:00–9:00 pm
Please note: We do not currently offer a Joey Scouts section.
Parent Involvement
Scouting is a family-friendly experience, and we warmly encourage parents and caregivers to get involved. Your support — whether helping at weekly meetings, driving to events, or assisting on camp — helps create a vibrant and supportive environment for all our Scouts.
Being a parent helper is a great way to share in your child’s Scouting journey, and no prior experience is needed — just enthusiasm and a willingness to lend a hand!
Trial Option and Contact
We offer a three-night trial so your child can experience the program and see if Scouting is the right fit for them.
If you’d like more information or have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact our Group Leader, Todd Tobin, at todd.tobin@nsw.scouts.com.au.
